Snorkeling under Copper Burst…

I just received in the mail today my first Sheaffer Admiral Snorkel and I must say it lays down a beautiful wet line. I was so excited that I went out and bought a bottle of Private Reserver Ink’s Copper Burst. I think I’ve found my new daily writer. I think at this point I’ll back off modern pens and stick with the vintage for awhile. So far I’ve seen equal or better results with the olders pen than the more expensive modern pens. Although, I still would like to get my hands on a Pilot Vanishing Point I think I’m satisfied for now.

  1. I’m actually more interested in your pen rest than in the pen. Where did you get it? What is it made of?

I saw that and immediately thought it was stunning. I got the idea to make some of my own pen rests and bought a block of Burmese Rosewood for the purpose. I am designing a rest that has a similar but somewhat more oval shape to it and grooves for three pens. The block of wood I bought should yield four rests so I will plan to sell three of them, if anyone out there might be interested in them.

  2. Honestly I’m not sure. The picture is from an classified ad off The Fountain Pen Network of which I bought the pen. I can possibly put you in contact with the seller of the pen and he might be able to help you out.
